Call for Papers:
22nd Public Affairs Symposium and 19th Public Affairs and Public Administration Youth Forum

Conference Theme and Content

Since its establishment, the Department of Public Affairs at Fo Guang University has continuously hosted 21 academic symposiums and 18 Youth Forums on Public Affairs and Public Administration. The symposium themes have primarily focused on integrating globalization and localization development strategies, making it a key knowledge exchange platform in the Lanyang region for discussions on global-local development strategies.

This year, the symposium will continue to be held alongside the National Youth Forum on Public Affairs and Public Administration, encouraging young scholars to actively present their academic research.

Call for Papers – 22nd Public Affairs Symposium

  1. Development and Review of Gender Equality in Taiwan
  2. Public Governance and International Relations in the AI Era
  3. The Current Status and Development of Local Governance and Regional Revitalization in Taiwan
  4. Taiwan’s Policies and Actions on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG)

19th Youth Forum on Public Affairs and Public Administration

The Youth Forum will maintain its five core themes from previous years:

  • Public Administration
  • Nonprofit Organization Management
  • Public Policy Analysis
  • Public Organization Management
  • Local Development

Submission Guidelines

This symposium accepts both invited papers and open submissions. Submissions will first be reviewed based on an abstract of 500–800 words. Once accepted, the paper will be included in the conference agenda, and authors will be notified.

  • Public Affairs Symposium: The first author must be an expert or scholar.
  • Youth Forum: Accepts papers from graduate (Master’s and Ph.D.) students.
  • Papers should be written in Chinese and should not exceed 10,000 words (including the main text, references, footnotes, and appendices).
  • Formatting should follow the Journal of Public Administration guidelines:

Please submit the registration form to fgujjp@gmail.com. The conference committee will respond with the review results upon receipt of the registration form.

Important Dates

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: September 10, 2023
  • Notification of Abstract Review Results: September 25, 2023
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: November 3, 2023
  • Conference Dates: November 23-24, 2023 (Thursday & Friday)
